R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Katy Police Department Canine Program took part
  in the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association Training
  Conference and Competition in Fayetteville, Arkansas, April 16 to
  April 20, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Competing against more than 200 teams from across
  the country, Officer Jerod Stewart and his canine, Goldy, brought
  home the First Place Law Enforcement Division Award and the Bark,
  Bandit, Trooper Award, which is presented to the competition's top
  dog over the age of five; moreover, Officer Stewart and Goldy teamed
  with Officer Jason Weathers and his canine, Mojo, to win the Best
  Team in Competition Award; and
         WHEREAS, Other members of the department's canine program are
  Sergeant Robert Martin and his canine, Rudy, and Officer Tim Rucker
  and his canine, Echo; and
         WHEREAS, These dedicated law enforcement officers and their
  canine counterparts have brought pride and recognition to the Katy
  Police Department and the State of Texas with their success at the
  2007 National Narcotic Detector Dog Association Training
  Conference and Competition, and it is a pleasure to congratulate
  them on their achievements and honor them for their efforts in the
  field; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Katy Police
  Department Canine Program on their success at the 2007 National
  Narcotic Detector Dog Association Training Conference and
  Competition and recognize these fine officers and their canines for
  their hard work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Katy Police Department Canine Program as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
