R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Hispanic Caucus of Houston Professional Fire
  Fighters Association Local 341 commemorated 25 years of dedicated
  service to the community on December 2, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, The Hispanic Caucus was established in 1981 with a
  board composed of John Ramirez as chair, Robert Rocha as vice chair,
  Richard Tellez as treasurer, Joe Rodriguez as communication
  director, and Mike Tijerina and Victor Tijerina as sergeants at
  arms; today, it is ably led by chair Richard Gomez, vice chair
  Lorenzo Diaz, Jr., communication director Mico Guerra, and trustee
  Roberto Rocha; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, this noteworthy organization has
  benefited area residents with a number of important community
  service programs, including Christmas Food Baskets for Senior
  Citizens and Adopt-a-Family for Christmas; moreover, the caucus
  furnishes supplies to local elementary schools and provides area
  Little League teams with equipment and uniforms; and
         WHEREAS, The dedication to their fellow Texans demonstrated
  by the members of the Hispanic Caucus has earned them the respect
  and admiration of their colleagues in the Houston Fire Fighters
  Association and the appreciation of countless area residents, and
  it is indeed appropriate to honor this significant milestone in the
  organization's rich history; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Hispanic Caucus of Houston
  Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 341 on the 25th
  anniversary of its founding and commend its members for their
  exceptional service; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
