R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Margaret Elizabeth Crouch Tiner and David Daniel
  Tiner are outstanding Texans whose work and achievements have been
  of great benefit to the Crane community, and this outstanding pair
  are truly worthy of special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Tiner defended his
  country alongside his four brothers and two nephews in World War II;
  he went on to earn a bachelor's degree and master's degree from
  Baylor University and served a notable 37-year career as an
  educator and administrator in Texas public schools; dedicated to
  the pursuit of knowledge, he has continued to take classes,
  attending 11 institutions of higher learning through the years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Tiner, who is also no stranger to sharing her
  time and talents with others, spent 12 years of her childhood
  assisting her parents in their missionary work with the poor; after
  graduating from Baylor University, she pursued a career in teaching
  and administration, positively affecting the lives of countless
  Texas children during her 27 years as an educator; since
  retirement, she has enjoyed traveling the world; and
         WHEREAS, Married August 20, 1949, Mr. and Mrs. Tiner have
  shared life's trials and triumphs for nearly six decades,
  supporting one another in all of their endeavors; they have been
  blessed with a close-knit family, which includes three children,
  Danella, Robin, and Tommy, and three grandchildren, Luther
  Cockrell, Georgia Hayes, and Erica Tiner; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to their many professional, civic, and
  familial responsibilities, this loving couple have volunteered
  their time to the congregation at the local First Baptist Church,
  where they have been active members for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout their lives, Margaret and David Tiner
  have demonstrated an inspiring dedication to serving the greater
  good, and their contributions have produced lasting benefits within
  the Crane community and beyond; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Margaret Elizabeth Crouch Tiner and David
  Daniel Tiner on their public service and for their enduring
  commitment to one another and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Tiner as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
