  H.R. No. 2027
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of David L. Vetter of Ingram on March 12,
  2007, at the age of 80, deeply saddened the family and friends of
  this fine man; and
         WHEREAS, Known affectionately by young people in his
  community as "Paw-Paw," Mr. Vetter was a U.S. Navy veteran of World
  War II; after the war he attended the University of Houston and
  worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in
  1981; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Vetter was a loving husband to Ruth Atkinson
  Vetter, with whom he shared a devoted union of 59 years; the couple
  became the proud parents of four children and they rejoiced as their
  family circle continued to grow with the arrival of grandchildren
  and great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Highly involved in community activities, Mr. Vetter
  was a member of the Friends/Faculty of Ingram Independent School
  District, the West Kerr County Chamber of Commerce, and the Hill
  Country Cowboy Camp Meeting; he also shared his time and talents
  with scouting organizations for boys and girls and the band
  boosters; a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, he
  attended Park Place UMC in Houston before joining the congregation
  of Hunt UMC; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan is profoundly missed by all who
  knew him, but he has left a legacy of good works and kindness that
  will be remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of David L. Vetter and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Ruth Vetter; to his children and their spouses, Donna Cosgrove,
  Michael Vetter and his wife, Jeanette, Bob Vetter and his wife,
  Leann, and Patti Goforth and her husband, Jim; to his sister, Ione
  Rhodes, and her husband, Dusty; to his grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David L.
  Vetter.
