R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Rena Joe Patterson Johnson of
  Rocksprings on April 6, 2007, at the age of 63, deeply saddened the
  family and friends of this beloved woman; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Uvalde to Jack and Otela Patterson on
  October 22, 1943, Mrs. Johnson graduated from St. Mary's Hall in San
  Antonio and attended The University of Texas at Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Rena Joe Johnson was a loving wife to W. R. "Red"
  Johnson, with whom she had four wonderful children; she was
  predeceased by her husband and by her son, George Johnson; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson taught Bible studies at Little Miracles
  Child Care; she was a valued congregant of First Baptist Church in
  Rocksprings and was actively involved in the American Cancer
  Society, in the Rocksprings Women's Club, and in bridge clubs in
  both Rocksprings and Leakey; she was also affiliated with Hill
  Country Cattle Women, the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' 
  Association, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, A woman who never knew a stranger and who helped
  everyone she could, Mrs. Johnson will be remembered for the love she
  showered on her family and friends, and she will be profoundly
  missed by all who were blessed to share in the richness of her life;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rena Joe Patterson
  Johnson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her mother, Otela Patterson; to her daughters, Susan Johnson,
  Lindsay Merritt and her husband, Garry, and Lanie Vickers and her
  husband, Cully; to her sister, Allyne Crider; to her brother, W. B.
  Patterson and his wife, Ginger; to her grandchildren, Ryan Johnson,
  Luke and Sarah Merritt, and Blake, Jacy, and Cade Vickers; and to
  her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rena Joe
  Patterson Johnson.
