R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  accomplishments of Russell Plunk of Dallas, who passed away on
  April 30, 2007, at the age of 50; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas, Mr. Plunk graduated from Bryan Adams
  High School in 1974 and attended the University of North Texas; he
  had worked part-time for Minyard Food Stores since the age of 14 and
  settled on a career with the company, working at numerous Minyard
  groceries; he was promoted to manager of the store in Lakewood, and
  for 13 years, he dedicated himself to providing quality service to
  his customers; the strong bond that he built with the store's
  clientele became evident when he was going to be transferred to
  another location; his supporters petitioned the grocery chain's
  management so that Mr. Plunk could remain in Lakewood; and
         WHEREAS, A spiritual man, Mr. Plunk was an active member of
  St. Pius X Catholic Church, where he assisted in many activities,
  including driving a bus, counting collection money, coaching and
  mentoring youth, and serving on the parish's athletic committee; in
  addition to his volunteer work, he spent his free time playing golf
  and following sports; and
         WHEREAS, Russell Plunk was a dedicated husband and father who
  inspired all who were fortunate enough to know him with his
  humbleness, his compassion, and his steadfast integrity, and he
  will be deeply missed by his family and by the many friends he made
  through his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Russell Plunk and
  offer condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Lisa
  Plunk; to his daughters, Claire and Katie Plunk; to his mother, Mary
  Plunk; to his siblings, the Reverend Richard Plunk, Diane Plunk,
  and Angela Bassinger; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Russell
  Plunk.
