R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and |
|
accomplishments of Russell Plunk of Dallas, who passed away on |
|
April 30, 2007, at the age of 50; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Dallas, Mr. Plunk graduated from Bryan Adams |
|
High School in 1974 and attended the University of North Texas; he |
|
had worked part-time for Minyard Food Stores since the age of 14 and |
|
settled on a career with the company, working at numerous Minyard |
|
groceries; he was promoted to manager of the store in Lakewood, and |
|
for 13 years, he dedicated himself to providing quality service to |
|
his customers; the strong bond that he built with the store's |
|
clientele became evident when he was going to be transferred to |
|
another location; his supporters petitioned the grocery chain's |
|
management so that Mr. Plunk could remain in Lakewood; and |
|
WHEREAS, A spiritual man, Mr. Plunk was an active member of |
|
St. Pius X Catholic Church, where he assisted in many activities, |
|
including driving a bus, counting collection money, coaching and |
|
mentoring youth, and serving on the parish's athletic committee; in |
|
addition to his volunteer work, he spent his free time playing golf |
|
and following sports; and |
|
WHEREAS, Russell Plunk was a dedicated husband and father who |
|
inspired all who were fortunate enough to know him with his |
|
humbleness, his compassion, and his steadfast integrity, and he |
|
will be deeply missed by his family and by the many friends he made |
|
through his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Russell Plunk and |
|
offer condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Lisa |
|
Plunk; to his daughters, Claire and Katie Plunk; to his mother, Mary |
|
Plunk; to his siblings, the Reverend Richard Plunk, Diane Plunk, |
|
and Angela Bassinger; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Russell |
|
Plunk. |
