R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and the Reverend J. Amos Jones and Odessa |
|
|
Jones of Houston are celebrating this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage on June 13, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Jones and the former Odessa Flix were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1957, at a ceremony held at Riceville Mt. |
|
|
Olive Baptist Church in Houston; through the years, they have been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes five children, |
|
|
Chester, Cheryl, Amos Tyrone, Lynne, and Karen, as well as 18 |
|
|
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Reverend |
|
|
and Mrs. Jones can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment sets a |
|
|
meaningful example for all who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend J. Amos Jones and |
|
|
Odessa Jones on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness together; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Jones as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
