R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Elton Stuckly, Sr., who passed away on April 20, 2007, at the age
  of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Stuckly was born in Elk to Edward Stuckly and
  Mary Krupa Stuckly on September 16, 1926; he attended New Hope
  School, located between Penelope and Hubbard, and served his
  country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Navy; and
         WHEREAS, After returning to civilian life, "Shorty" Stuckly
  became a longtime farmer and rancher; he was a valued member of West
  V.F.W. Post No. 4819, as well as the Church of the Nativity of the
  Blessed Virgin Mary in Penelope; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Stuckly shared a
  rewarding union of 56 years with his beloved wife, Evelyn, and he
  delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren;  he also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting
  deer and wild hogs;  and
         WHEREAS, Elton Stuckly could take pride in a lifetime of
  constructive endeavor, and those who knew and treasured him will
  forever hold him close in their hearts;  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elton "Shorty"
  Stuckly, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Evelyn Stuckly; to his son, Elton Stuckly, Jr.,
  and his wife, Peggy; to his daughters, Darlene Herring and her
  husband, Eddy, and Charlotte Hromadka and her husband, James; to
  his four brothers, Woodrow Stuckly, Edwin "Windy" Stuckly, Billy
  Stuckly and his wife, Margaret, and Jimmy Stuckly and his wife,
  Evelyn; to his sisters, Dorothy Firasek and Thelma Trojan; to his
  eight grandchildren, Cory Herring, Delton Stuckly and his wife,
  Patti, Angela Herring, Jimbo Hromadka and his wife, Megan, Elaine
  Richard and her husband, Jeremy, Amy Hromadka and Heath Keel,
  Michael Sheard, and Chip Sheard and his wife, Rene; to his nine
  great-grandchildren, Edward, Aidan, Emily, Terra, Anthony "Bubba,"
  Alayna, Madison, McKenzie, and Madyson; and to his other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Elton
  "Shorty" Stuckly, Sr.
