R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Chris Ernest, a senior at Del Valle High School, has |
|
|
been named a 2006-2007 State Farm Scholar-Athlete in recognition of |
|
|
his superlative performance in the classroom and on the basketball |
|
|
court; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ernest ranks third in his graduating class with |
|
|
a 5.0 grade point average and serves as cocaptain of the school's |
|
|
varsity basketball team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This gifted student-athlete is a member of the |
|
|
National Honor Society and is active in other extracurricular |
|
|
organizations, including the Art Club and the Drama Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Individuals chosen to receive the State Farm |
|
|
Scholar-Athlete Award have demonstrated leadership and citizenship |
|
|
in all aspects of their lives, and Chris Ernest is a worthy |
|
|
recipient of this honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Chris Ernest on his selection as a |
|
|
2006-2007 State Farm Scholar-Athlete and extend to him best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in his athletic and academic endeavors; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Ernest as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
