R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Harold and Ethel Johnston of Euless |
|
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 26, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Hal" Johnston and the former Ethel Della Chagnon |
|
|
were united in matrimony in Simsbury, Connecticut, in 1947; they |
|
|
have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
|
even richer with the addition of their three children, Judy |
|
|
Johnston, Rich Johnston, and Kenn Johnston, as well as six |
|
|
grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnston served with the U.S. Navy during World |
|
|
War II and is a retired airline captain; Mrs. Johnston is a |
|
|
homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have taken |
|
|
comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast |
|
|
support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's |
|
|
challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Harold and Ethel Johnston on their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnston as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
