R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Harold and Ethel Johnston of Euless
  celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 26, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, "Hal" Johnston and the former Ethel Della Chagnon
  were united in matrimony in Simsbury, Connecticut, in 1947; they
  have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made
  even richer with the addition of their three children, Judy
  Johnston, Rich Johnston, and Kenn Johnston, as well as six
  grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Johnston served with the U.S. Navy during World
  War II and is a retired airline captain; Mrs. Johnston is a
  homemaker; and
         WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world
  over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have taken
  comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast
  support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's
  challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Harold and Ethel Johnston on their
  60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnston as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
