R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Matt Berry of Austin received the Woodworth Memorial
  Award from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America
  for outstanding service to independent insurance agents and the
  entire insurance industry; and
         WHEREAS, The highest honor bestowed on an individual by the
  "Big I," this national award recognizes its recipient for a
  lifetime of professional service; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Berry, a graduate of The University of Texas at
  Austin, earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation as a life
  insurance agent before specializing in property and casualty
  coverage at the William Gammon Insurance Agency; and
         WHEREAS, He has distinguished himself through his leadership
  on the board of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, which he
  served for more than a decade, including as president in 1991 and
  later as the state national director for five years; moreover, at
  the national level, Mr. Berry served as chair of the "Big I"
  Professional Liability Task Force; since 1999, he has shared his
  time as IIAT liaison to the Texas Mutual Insurance Company; and
         WHEREAS, Also a recipient of the Drex Foreman Award, the
  Texas association's highest honor, in 2002, Mr. Berry has long
  demonstrated professional commitment, enthusiasm, and excellence,
  and this most recent commendation further acknowledges his notable
  accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Matt Berry on his receipt of the
  Woodworth Memorial Award from the Independent Insurance Agents &
  Brokers of America and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Berry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
