R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans gathered at the South Texas Black Business |
|
Expo February 23-25, 2007, to celebrate the emergence of a strong |
|
and dynamic African American business community in the area; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce hosted this |
|
important event, which fosters long-lasting business relationships |
|
among entrepreneurs, business owners, commercial vendors, and |
|
consumers, helping to create a foundation for continued economic |
|
growth and prosperity in South Central Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Drawing nearly 5,000 attendees, the expo offers |
|
individuals of all ages information about business services, health |
|
and wellness, African American authors, and the marketplace; in |
|
between business networking and educational sessions, participants |
|
may enjoy a full range of local and regional entertainment; and |
|
WHEREAS, The organizers and participants of the Black |
|
Business Expo are contributing to the economic prosperity of Texas, |
|
and it is indeed fitting at this time that we pay special tribute to |
|
those involved in making this an occasion to enjoy and remember; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the 2007 South Texas Black Business |
|
Expo and that best wishes be extended to the Alamo City Black |
|
Chamber of Commerce and all those associated with the expo; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce as an |
|
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
