R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Texans gathered at the South Texas Black Business
  Expo February 23-25, 2007, to celebrate the emergence of a strong
  and dynamic African American business community in the area; and
         WHEREAS, The Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce hosted this
  important event, which fosters long-lasting business relationships
  among entrepreneurs, business owners, commercial vendors, and
  consumers, helping to create a foundation for continued economic
  growth and prosperity in South Central Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Drawing nearly 5,000 attendees, the expo offers
  individuals of all ages information about business services, health
  and wellness, African American authors, and the marketplace; in
  between business networking and educational sessions, participants
  may enjoy a full range of local and regional entertainment; and
         WHEREAS, The organizers and participants of the Black
  Business Expo are contributing to the economic prosperity of Texas,
  and it is indeed fitting at this time that we pay special tribute to
  those involved in making this an occasion to enjoy and remember;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the 2007 South Texas Black Business
  Expo and that best wishes be extended to the Alamo City Black
  Chamber of Commerce and all those associated with the expo; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
