R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Juanita Mildred Jackson Guilmenot of San Antonio
  celebrated a significant milestone in her life with her 80th
  birthday on April 27, 2007;  and
         WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio in 1927 to Wesley Louis and
  Gwendolyn Mildred Branch Jackson, Mrs. Guilmenot graduated from
  Phillis Wheatley High School in 1944 and then attended St. Philip's
  College and Incarnate Word University; and
         WHEREAS, On January 29, 1947, she was joined in matrimony
  with Warren Allison Guilmenot, and their happy union has thrived
  for 60 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Guilmenot was a teacher and director at Mt.
  Zion Day Care Center from 1959 to 1961, and in 1961, she began a
  26-year career with the San Antonio ISD, working as an
  administrative staff member at James Whitcomb Riley Middle School
  and Emerson Middle School until her retirement in 1987; and
         WHEREAS, Giving generously of her time and effort to many
  community organizations, she was a Postal Alliance Auxiliary member
  for 15 years and volunteered as well at the Carver Center; she also
  served as an assistant troop leader with the Girl Scouts and as a
  parent volunteer with the Camp Fire Girls; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Guilmenot has been an active member of Mt. Zion
  First Baptist Church since she was a child; serving as Usher Board
  secretary for over 50 years, she has also been the Vacation Bible
  School secretary for 40 years and the General Mission Council
  secretary since 1988; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with the love of her lifetime companion,
  Warren Guilmenot, and the love and devotion of their children,
  Joseph, Charlotte, Earl, Denise, and Brigitte, Mrs. Guilmenot has
  dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her community, and
  it is fitting to honor her on this special day; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Juanita Mildred Jackson Guilmenot
  on her 80th birthday and extend to her best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Guilmenot as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
