R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Patricia Berry of Harrison |
|
County celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 8, 2007; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Berry were united in matrimony at |
|
Summit United Methodist Church in Woodlawn in 1957; they have |
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even |
|
richer with the addition of three children and their spouses, |
|
D'Etta Oney, Debbie Fielden and her husband, David, and Dawn Lee and |
|
her husband, Scotty, as well as seven grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Berry is employed full-time with East Texas |
|
Fuels of Marshall and Mrs. Berry has been the postmaster in Woodlawn |
|
for more than 25 years; the couple have also owned and operated |
|
Woodlawn Store since 1969; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Patricia Berry on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Berry as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
