R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Carol Coston McPike of Boerne is marking a very
  special day in her life on July 18, 2007, when this esteemed Texan
  celebrates her 60th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas, Ms. McPike graduated from Highland
  Park High School and Southern Methodist University; and
         WHEREAS, Carol McPike has long been involved in, and
  supportive of, the education of children; she has worked as both a
  teacher and substitute teacher, served as president of the
  University Park Elementary School PTA, and as a parent volunteer at
  University Park Elementary, McCulloch Middle School, and Highland
  Park High School; moreover, she has contributed her time and
  talents to the La Fiesta fund-raiser for the Highland Park
  Independent School District and to such worthy community projects
  and organizations as the annual Dallas Chi Omega Christmas Market
  and the Cub Scouts; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, Carol McPike is the
  wife of Richard McPike and the mother of Richard Kirk and Erik
  Coston McPike; she is also a lifelong animal lover who has provided
  a wonderful home for family pets Heidi, Patchie, Goldie, Miley,
  Zoe, Hershey, and Sadie; and
         WHEREAS, Through her warm and generous spirit, Carol McPike
  has enriched the lives of countless individuals, and she inspires
  the affection and admiration of all who know her; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Carol Coston McPike on the joyous
  occasion of her 60th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. McPike as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
