R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and Stanley and Evelyn Bowers of Round Rock
  are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on June 1,
  2007; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bowers and the former Evelyn Good met as
  students at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, and
  were united in matrimony in 1957 at a ceremony held at the Bel Air
  Church of the Nazarene in Maryland; through the years, they have
  been blessed with a treasured family that includes two children,
  Mark and Marilyn, as well as five grandsons, Timothy, Steven,
  Nathaniel, Nicolas, and Christopher; and
         WHEREAS, Both retired civil servants who worked in our
  nation's capital, Mr. Bowers worked for the U.S. General Services
  Administration for 31 years and Mrs. Bowers served with the U.S.
  Department of Transportation for 23 years; they have held various
  leadership positions with the Church of the Nazarene, and they have
  volunteered many hours with the American Red Cross; in addition,
  Mr. and Mrs. Bowers have been active in politics, giving of their
  time and talents to national and local election campaigns and
  working with Williamson County officials regarding homeowners' 
  rights; and
         WHEREAS, Stanley and Evelyn Bowers have enjoyed five decades
  of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Stanley and Evelyn Bowers on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bowers as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
