R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, After 13 years of outstanding service, John Simmons |
|
is retiring from the Wylie Independent School District Board of |
|
Trustees; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Simmons was elected to the school board in 1994, |
|
and throughout his tenure he has demonstrated an unwavering |
|
commitment to excellence and to the district's students, teachers, |
|
and campuses; moreover, he further distinguished himself by serving |
|
as board president for two years and by accumulating more than 300 |
|
hours of board training; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumnus of Wylie ISD, Mr. Simmons is currently |
|
employed by L-3 Communications in Greenville; he is a valued |
|
congregant of the First Baptist Church of Wylie and a longtime |
|
member of the East Fork Masonic Lodge, which he has served as a past |
|
master and a district deputy grand master; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Simmons has enjoyed the |
|
love and support of his wife, Susie, their daughters, Kimberly and |
|
Cheryl, and their three grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, The vitality of our schools depends on the |
|
dedication of individuals like John Simmons, who give generously of |
|
their time and talents in behalf of the youth of the Lone Star |
|
State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his record of |
|
achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend John Simmons on his years of service to |
|
the Wylie ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Simmons as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
