R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, After 13 years of outstanding service, John Simmons
  is retiring from the Wylie Independent School District Board of
  Trustees; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Simmons was elected to the school board in 1994,
  and throughout his tenure he has demonstrated an unwavering
  commitment to excellence and to the district's students, teachers,
  and campuses; moreover, he further distinguished himself by serving
  as board president for two years and by accumulating more than 300
  hours of board training; and
         WHEREAS, An alumnus of Wylie ISD, Mr. Simmons is currently
  employed by L-3 Communications in Greenville; he is a valued
  congregant of the First Baptist Church of Wylie and a longtime
  member of the East Fork Masonic Lodge, which he has served as a past
  master and a district deputy grand master; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Simmons has enjoyed the
  love and support of his wife, Susie, their daughters, Kimberly and
  Cheryl, and their three grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, The vitality of our schools depends on the
  dedication of individuals like John Simmons, who give generously of
  their time and talents in behalf of the youth of the Lone Star
  State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his record of
  achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend John Simmons on his years of service to
  the Wylie ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Simmons as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
