R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The two Montgomery High School girls' golf teams
  continued their outstanding record in the sport at the University
  Interscholastic League 2007 State Championships, with the Lady
  Bears Purple team capturing the Class 4A title for the seventh
  consecutive year while the Gold team placed fifth; and
         WHEREAS, The Montgomery golfers were paced by sophomore Lisa
  McCloskey; her two-round score of 141 earned her the state
  individual title, a feat never before achieved by a member of the
  Lady Bears; Ms. McCloskey's teammates on the Purple squad also
  turned in fine performances, with seniors Abby Oberthier and
  Kristin Foyteck finishing in the top 10; in addition, senior Holly
  Baker posted an overall score of 165 and sophomore Allison LaRoche
  finished at 180; and
         WHEREAS, Leading the Montgomery Gold team was senior Chelsea
  Sargent, who tied for sixth place in the tournament; teammates Bria
  Tate, Karisma Smith, Kendall Hubbard, and Paige Gould also
  contributed to the Gold squad's overall results, which gave
  Montgomery High two of the top five 4A teams in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, The inspired play of the Lady Bears was also noted in
  the awarding of All-State honors; Ms. McCloskey was named to the
  first team, and Ms. Foyteck, Ms. Oberthier, and Ms. Sargent
  received second-team recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by head coach Rusty Herridge, the members of
  the 2007 Purple and Gold teams have carried forth Montgomery High
  School's legacy of golf excellence, and their place in the school's
  winning tradition will be a permanent source of pride for these
  talented athletes; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Rusty Herridge and the Lady
  Bears golfers of Montgomery High School on their seventh state
  title and their exceptional performances at the 2007 championship
  tournament and extend to them best wishes for success in their
  future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the teams as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
