R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mariya V. Pozharova is graduating from The |
|
|
University of Texas at Austin in May 2007, and she is to be heartily |
|
|
congratulated on her latest scholastic achievement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Gabrovo, Bulgaria, Ms. Pozharova |
|
|
graduated in the top one percent of her high school class and went |
|
|
on to attend the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, |
|
|
Bulgaria, where she majored in international relations; she once |
|
|
again graduated in the top one percent of her class, and in 2006, |
|
|
she completed her master's dissertation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This accomplished young woman has studied German and |
|
|
government during her years at The University of Texas at Austin; a |
|
|
member of Phi Beta Kappa, she has maintained a high grade point |
|
|
average and her academic achievements have earned her the title of |
|
|
College Scholar, as well as Harold W. Billings Staff Honors from The |
|
|
University of Texas Libraries System in 2005 and 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to compiling a notable list of personal |
|
|
achievements, Ms. Pozharova has demonstrated a commitment to |
|
|
serving others; she enjoys volunteering at a local elementary |
|
|
school and has been of great assistance in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Tommy Merritt, where she has performed her duties as |
|
|
a legislative intern with skill, perseverance, and dedication; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A source of pride to her parents, Veselin Nikolov |
|
|
Pozharov and Vaska Kostadinova Pozharova, Ms. Pozharova may indeed |
|
|
reflect on her academic career with a sense of accomplishment and |
|
|
look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mariya V. Pozharova on her |
|
|
graduation from The University of Texas at Austin and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Pozharova as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
