R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Charles Lee Orr of Kerrville passed away on April
  18, 2007, leaving his family with fond memories of his many
  accomplishments and his wise words of advice; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Frank and Bessie Orr, Chuck Orr was born
  near Detroit in 1924; like so many others of his generation, he was
  shaped by the difficult times his family experienced during the
  Great Depression; coming of age as the United States entered World
  War II, he volunteered to fight for his country as a member of the
  U.S. Marine Corps; and
         WHEREAS, His military service took him to California, where
  he met Alma Mae Pfaff, and they were wed following the war; their
  60-year marriage brought them four sons as well as an extended
  family of four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and
  ended with Mrs. Orr's death in 2006; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Orr enjoyed a long and productive career with
  General Motors, which took him to assignments around the world and
  eventually brought him to Arlington; following his retirement, he
  and his wife settled in Kerrville in 1988, where they became well
  known and highly regarded members of the community; they spent many
  enjoyable years in the Hill Country and were familiar figures at the
  Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course and at their favorite area
  restaurants; and
         WHEREAS, This caring man took great pride and pleasure in his
  family, and the values that he instilled in his loved ones will
  continue to guide them in years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Lee Orr and
  extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his
  sons, Jeff, John, and Paul; to his grandchildren, Michael, David,
  Kimberly, and Katie; to his great-grandchildren, Caroline,
  Kathleen, Caden, and Ashlyn; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Chuck Orr.
