R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bob and Freda Madsen of Mineola celebrated their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary on November 30, 2006, and they may indeed |
|
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Madsen exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|
|
at Golden Baptist Church in Golden on that special day in 1956, and |
|
|
over the course of their marriage they have found in each other a |
|
|
loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Madsens count among their blessings a fine |
|
|
family that includes five children, Pam Franklin, Patty Hawkins, |
|
|
Karen Griffith, Bobby Madsen, and David Madsen, as well as 15 |
|
|
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with whom they share the |
|
|
many special occasions of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Madsen is |
|
|
retired from AgPower and Mrs. Madsen is vice president of public |
|
|
relations and a loan officer at Mineola Community Bank; in addition |
|
|
to meeting their work and family responsibilities, the couple have |
|
|
been valued members of First Baptist Church; moreover, Mr. Madsen |
|
|
serves on the Mineola Foundation Board and the Mineola Civic Center |
|
|
board of directors, and Mrs. Madsen is chair of the Wood County |
|
|
Industrial Commission and a member of the Mineola Main Street board |
|
|
of directors and Beta Sigma Phi sorority; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Bob and Freda Madsen have |
|
|
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|
|
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bob and Freda Madsen on their 50th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Madsen as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
