R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ed Brady is retiring from his position as president |
|
and CEO of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, bringing to a close |
|
an exceptional tenure with the organization of almost 13 years and a |
|
career in civic service that has spanned some 30 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Metrocrest chamber serves the communities of |
|
Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch, and Mr. Brady has overseen |
|
the organization's economic development activities and programs |
|
and worked with area business leaders and government officials in |
|
promoting the chamber's objectives; whether developing and |
|
implementing successful marketing and fund-raising campaigns or |
|
managing the staff, volunteers, and budget, he has consistently |
|
demonstrated a commitment to excellence; and |
|
WHEREAS, This native Texan brought to the Metrocrest position |
|
a wealth of experience garnered from his years of service in |
|
municipal government and with other chambers of commerce; he |
|
previously worked as the city manager, assistant city manager, and |
|
director of economic development for the City of DeSoto and as the |
|
president and CEO of that community's chamber of commerce; in |
|
addition, he served as the president and CEO of the Bryan-College |
|
Station Chamber of Commerce and as the executive vice president and |
|
director of membership for the Austin Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
WHEREAS, The economic vitality of our state depends on |
|
individuals like Mr. Brady, whose vision and inspiring leadership |
|
have greatly benefited each of the communities he has so ably |
|
served, and he may reflect with pride on his many achievements; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Brady on his retirement as |
|
president and CEO of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce and extend |
|
to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Brady as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
