R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt
  at the death of U.S. Army Private First Class Larry I. Guyton of
  Brenham, who lost his life while bravely serving his country in Iraq
  on May 5, 2007, at the age of 22; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment,
  2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, based at Fort Hood,
  Texas, Private First Class Guyton was mortally wounded during
  combat operations in Baghdad; and
         WHEREAS, Larry Guyton attended Brenham High School and
  graduated in 2004 from Bellville High School, where he was a member
  of the football, basketball, and track teams and participated in
  Junior ROTC and the Buffalo Soldiers; fulfilling a long-held desire
  to become a soldier, he enlisted in the army the following year and
  was deployed to Iraq in October 2006; and
         WHEREAS, A beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Private
  First Class Guyton drew support from daily communication with his
  wife, Tonya, and took great pride in his two young sons, Jaidyn and
  Kenyon; moreover, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting,
  fishing, horseback riding, and camping; and
         WHEREAS, Private First Class Guyton embodied the highest
  standards of the United States armed forces, and his valiant
  efforts and immense sacrifice are deserving of the respect and
  appreciation of every American; although his loss has left a
  tremendous void in the lives of all who knew him, they will forever
  treasure their memories of him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Private
  First Class Larry I. Guyton and extend sincere sympathy to the
  members of his family: to his wife, Tonya Guyton; to his sons,
  Jaidyn and Kenyon Guyton; to his mother, Andrea McDonald; to his
  father, Larry Guyton, Sr.; to his brothers, LaMont Robert Guyton,
  Christopher Washington, Miles Guyton, and Sheldon Guyton; to his
  sisters, Debbie Rogers, Erika Williams, and Brittiany Mathis; to
  his grandmothers, Johnnie Mae Williams and Charlesetta Guyton; to
  his great-grandmother, Verline Ray; and to his other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Private
  First Class Larry I. Guyton.
