R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Melanie Sue Schroedter has provided invaluable
  service as a legislative intern in the office of State
  Representative Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles during the 80th Texas
  Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Mike and Kay Schroedter, Ms.
  Schroedter grew up on a farm in Jim Wells County; when her mother
  died in 2001, Ms. Schroedter took on many additional family
  responsibilities, and at the age of 15 she was driving tractors and
  herding cattle alongside her father; despite these hardships, Ms.
  Schroedter participated in the FFA, competed at three consecutive
  state power-lifting championships, and graduated valedictorian of
  her senior class at Orange Grove High School in 2005; and
         WHEREAS, Today, this remarkable young woman is an
  agricultural economics major at Texas A&M University, where she
  maintains a 3.8 grade point average and serves as a member of Aggie
  REPS, the National AgriMarketing Association, and the College of
  Agriculture and Life Sciences Council; she is looking forward to
  studying abroad in France this summer before returning to College
  Station to complete her degree; and
         WHEREAS, Through her strong work ethic and positive attitude,
  Melanie Schroedter has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in
  all that she undertakes, and her work for the legislature has
  greatly benefited the citizens of House District 35; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Melanie Sue Schroedter on her exemplary
  tenure as a legislative intern and extend to her warmest best wishes
  for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Schroedter as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
