R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, November 3, 2007, will indeed be a special day for
Neesha Ishwar Dave and Jeffre Ward Rotkoff, for on that day they
will embark on a new life together as husband and wife; and
       WHEREAS, Ms. Dave and Mr. Rotkoff will exchange their wedding
vows in Austin, bringing together their proud parents, Uma and
Ishwar Dave and Libby and Steve Rotkoff, other relatives, and many
friends to witness this important milestone in their lives; and
       WHEREAS, The groom, who currently serves as deputy director
of the Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee, has previously
worked as a field representative and assistant field director for
Congressman Chet Edwards and as chief of staff for Representative
Marc Veasey during the 79th Texas legislative session; his fiance
was an intern for former Representative John Mabry during the 78th
Texas legislative session and went on to serve as a legislative
assistant and campaign field director before joining Texas Watch,
where she now holds the title of grassroots director; and
       WHEREAS, Both graduates of The University of Texas at Austin,
they began dating in 2004 and were engaged on August 13, 2006;
carrying on an unintentional family tradition, Mr. Rotkoff handed
Ms. Dave an heirloom engagement ring once presented in a similar
fashion by his father to his mother and casually "popped the
question" while the two were driving down "scenic" Airport
Boulevard in East Austin; and
       WHEREAS, The marriage of Ms. Dave and Mr. Rotkoff will mark a
profound deepening of a relationship that has grown in love,
respect, and mutual regard with each passing day, and their
engagement is a source of great pleasure to their family and
friends; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Neesha Ishwar Dave and Jeffre Ward
Rotkoff on their upcoming wedding and extend to them warmest best
wishes for a lifetime of happiness; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Dave and Mr. Rotkoff as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
