R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 80th Legislative Session, Melissa De La |
|
|
Cruz has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the office of |
|
|
State Representative Roberto Alonzo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Currently studying government at Austin Community |
|
|
College, Ms. De La Cruz graduated from the distinguished program at |
|
|
Crockett High School in Austin, where her academic achievement |
|
|
earned her the title of Texas Scholar; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. De La Cruz has long made time in her busy |
|
|
schedule to participate in the National Hispanic Institute; a |
|
|
valued member of that organization since 1999, she has volunteered |
|
|
with the Young Leaders Conference, Lorenzo de Zavala Youth |
|
|
Legislative Session, and Collegiate World Series; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship at the State |
|
|
Capitol, Ms. De La Cruz has been of great assistance to |
|
|
Representative Alonzo's office; in addition to enhancing her |
|
|
knowledge of the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |
|
|
of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable work experience in |
|
|
the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. De La Cruz has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and |
|
|
she may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Melissa De La Cruz for her exemplary |
|
|
service as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Roberto Alonzo and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. De La Cruz as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
