R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Marine Lance Corporal Luke
  B. Holler of Bulverde suffered an immeasurable loss with the death
  of this valiant soldier on November 2, 2006, at the age of 21; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th
  Marine Division, Lance Corporal Holler was killed while serving his
  country in Al Anbar province, Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, Luke Holler cherished his faith, family, and
  country; despite the dangerous nature of his mission, he remained
  devoted to his role in the Global War on Terrorism, and his courage
  and swift thinking in battle are credited with saving the lives of
  fellow soldiers; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his honesty and integrity, he strove to go
  above and beyond in every situation; his enthusiasm, generosity,
  and selflessness were contagious, and his kind spirit uplifted
  many; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and
  women whose love for their country inspires them to military
  service, yet the tragic death of this brave soldier is a sobering
  reminder of the cost of war; and
         WHEREAS, Luke Holler exemplified the highest ideals of the
  U.S. armed forces and inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity,
  and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his
  loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic young
  Texan close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lance Corporal Luke B.
  Holler and extend deepest sympathy to his family: to his parents,
  John and Ruth Holler; to his brother, Joey; to his sisters, Rebekah,
  Jennifer, and Elizabeth; to his brother-in-law, Chris Upton; to his
  niece and nephews, Kaitlyn, Timothy, and Benjamin; to his fiancée,
  Jessica Coker; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marine
  Lance Corporal Luke B. Holler.
