R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cassandra Lyons, a sixth-grade language arts |
|
|
teacher at DeZavala Elementary School in Midland, has been named a |
|
|
2007 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These prestigious awards honor teachers in |
|
|
communities around the nation who demonstrate an outstanding |
|
|
dedication to education, with the award received by Ms. Lyons being |
|
|
sponsored by the Southside Wal-Mart in Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Midland College and East Texas State |
|
|
University, Cassandra Lyons has been a teacher for 15 years and has |
|
|
worked at DeZavala Elementary School for four years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Setting an example to which all in her field may |
|
|
aspire, Ms. Lyons focuses on building a strong rapport with her |
|
|
students and finding ways to motivate them, and her love of teaching |
|
|
has opened up countless young minds to the joys of learning; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cassandra Lyons on her selection as |
|
|
a 2007 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Lyons as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
