R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alexandra Weeks of L. D. Bell High School has been |
|
|
named a 2006-2007 National Hispanic Recognition Scholar; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board organization, the |
|
|
National Hispanic Recognition Program focuses special emphasis on |
|
|
Hispanic students who score well on the Preliminary SAT/National |
|
|
Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and who maintain a satisfactory |
|
|
grade point average; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The only student at L. D. Bell High School to be |
|
|
chosen as a National Hispanic Recognition Scholar this year, Ms. |
|
|
Weeks is at the forefront of academic excellence in the nation, and |
|
|
her outstanding accomplishment makes her a source of great pride to |
|
|
her school and community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alexandra Weeks has demonstrated exceptional |
|
|
intelligence, initiative, and maturity in pursuing her goals, and |
|
|
she is truly well prepared to face the challenges and opportunities |
|
|
that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alexandra Weeks on being selected |
|
|
as a 2006-2007 National Hispanic Recognition Scholar and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Weeks as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
