R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, The orderly deliberations of the Texas House of
Representatives during the Regular Session of the 80th Legislature
have been greatly facilitated by the diligent efforts of those who
serve in the office of the house sergeant-at-arms; and
       WHEREAS, Rod Welsh, the house sergeant-at-arms, includes
among his duties maintaining order in the house chamber and meeting
rooms, securing the attendance of members, and assisting all house
officers in carrying out their administrative duties; assistant
sergeant-at-arms David Sauceda oversees the daily activities of the
sergeant messengers, who contribute to the efficiency of the
legislative process in innumerable ways; and doorkeeper Vernon
Effenberger strictly enforces the privileges of the floor and is
the voice heard when there is an eagerly awaited message from the
senate; and
       WHEREAS, The duties of the sergeant's office could not be
performed without the essential support of office supervisors
Robert Barrios, Alex Dacus, Manuel Garcia, Alana Gutierrez, Lavon
Irby, and Patty Liendo; and
       WHEREAS, Helping to ensure the availability of parking as
well as the safety of house members and their vehicles are house
parking attendants Jerry Amaya, Colombo Napolean, Billy Moore,
Ralph Rios, Rudell Roe, Marco Villanueva, and Frank Wilson, who are
overseen by parking supervisor Diana Rodriguez; and
       WHEREAS, The exceptionally competent sergeant messenger
staff includes the following individuals: Bradley Bizzell, Mikel
Blake, Roy Constancio, Dorothy Davis, Jacob Del Bosque, Frankie
Espinosa, Richard Fernandez, Casey Gain, Aaron Grant, Paul Hays,
Norma Herrera, Tom Holloway, Allen Jackson, Brett King, Victoria
Levy, Heather Loomis, Bert Massey, Latreese McCradic, James
McDaniel, Rob Morgan, Pete Mobley, Katie Qualls, Trevor Rice,
Tanisha Rogers, Jeremy Salazar, Leonora Soriano, Travis Stewart,
Jacob Stone, Ray Wallace, Brandon Wilson, and Maritza Zamorano; and
       WHEREAS, The high degree of professionalism and
conscientious efforts of each individual in the house
sergeant-at-arms office have contributed immeasurably to this
legislative session, and each is truly deserving of special
recognition; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
Legislature hereby extend to house sergeant-at-arms Rod Welsh and
to the entire staff of the office of the house sergeant-at-arms
sincere gratitude for the outstanding services they have rendered
during this legislative session; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the house sergeant-at-arms office as an expression of
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
