R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The boys' golf team of Edgewood High School captured |
|
|
its second consecutive University Interscholastic League Class 2A |
|
|
State Championship, posting a cumulative total of 619 to win the |
|
|
tournament by an impressive 13 strokes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Bulldogs were paced by Brett Perry and Dillon |
|
|
Phillips, who tied for seventh place overall with two-day totals of |
|
|
151; team members Michael Waites, Justin King, and Calvin King also |
|
|
had solid showings; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Winning a state golf championship requires |
|
|
tremendous focus on the part of each team member, and these young |
|
|
champions will look back with pride on this accomplishment for |
|
|
years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the boys' golf team of Edgewood |
|
|
High School on winning the UIL 2007 Class 2A State Championship and |
|
|
extend best wishes to all those who contributed to the team's |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
