R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Trinity Christian Academy Lady Eagles |
|
|
basketball team captured the 2007 Texas Christian Athletic |
|
|
Fellowship district championship and advanced to the TCAF state |
|
|
championship game; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Eagles went undefeated in district |
|
|
competition and finished the season with an impressive record of 20 |
|
|
wins and two losses; the team put forth a hard-fought effort in the |
|
|
state championship game but ultimately fell to the talented team |
|
|
from El Paso Immanuel Baptist Christian School by the score of |
|
|
42-40; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Head coach Patti Hale schooled her young athletes in |
|
|
the importance of hard-court fundamentals and teamwork, and she was |
|
|
aided in her efforts by assistant coach Paula Abernathie; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Team members include Taylor Abernathie, Alexis |
|
|
Blasingame, Sydney Bobbitt, Faith Forester, Brooke Franks, Gabby |
|
|
Hixon, Mary King, Kaylan Lee, Meredith Mondoy, Melanie Mondoy, |
|
|
Tawnie Moore, Shae Pendley, Micalea Pendley, Bethany Sissom, Deidre |
|
|
Watson, Andrea Watson, and Hilary Wheat; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With their commitment to excellence and outstanding |
|
|
sportsmanship, the Lady Eagles earned the respect and admiration of |
|
|
fans and opponents alike, and it is a pleasure to recognize these |
|
|
dedicated student-athletes on their memorable season; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Patti Hale and the Trinity |
|
|
Christian Academy Lady Eagles on winning the 2007 Texas Christian |
|
|
Athletic Fellowship district championship and advancing to the |
|
|
state championship final and extend best wishes to the many |
|
|
individuals who contributed to the team's success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
