R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Amberlyn Fett of Dripping Springs has received the |
|
|
Youth Good Samaritan Award from the Central Texas Red Cross |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Dripping Springs High School, Ms. Fett |
|
|
has displayed remarkable selflessness, compassion, and initiative |
|
|
in her efforts to comfort children in the hospital; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Fett has cystic fibrosis and has also been |
|
|
diagnosed with asthma and diabetes; no stranger to hospitals, she |
|
|
was shocked to realize that too many young patients in pediatric |
|
|
wards did not have visitors and during the Christmas season did not |
|
|
receive many presents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Moved to reach out to these children, she created |
|
|
Amber's Angels, which provides gift bags for the patients of |
|
|
Children's Hospital of Austin, and she has conducted fund-raisers |
|
|
and provided more than 200 bags for young patients; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Amberlyn Fett displays a sense of personal strength |
|
|
and a determination to help others that offer eloquent testimony to |
|
|
the finest quality of the human spirit, and she is most deserving of |
|
|
special commendation; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby warmly congratulate Amberlyn Fett on her receipt |
|
|
of the Youth Good Samaritan Award from the Central Texas Red Cross |
|
|
Association and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Fett as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
