R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to an end with the |
|
|
passing of Icidro R. Flores of Sinton on March 6, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Flores worked for many years as a troquero, |
|
|
driving laborers throughout the state to pick cotton, and later |
|
|
served as a machine operator with H&K Construction Company for more |
|
|
than three decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Apa," he enjoyed 67 years |
|
|
of marriage with his wife, Luz G. Flores, and he was the proud |
|
|
father of five sons and three daughters; over the years, their |
|
|
family grew to include three additional generations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of deep faith and a devoted member of Our Lady |
|
|
of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Icidro Flores was respected and |
|
|
admired by all who knew him for his diligence, kindness, and |
|
|
integrity, and those fortunate enough to have shared in the |
|
|
blessing of his life will long cherish their memories of time spent |
|
|
in his company; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Icidro R. Flores and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
|
Luz Flores; to his children, Icidro "Chiro" Flores, Jr., and his |
|
|
wife, Felipa, Jose Flores and his wife, Juanita, Representative |
|
|
Dora Olivo and her husband, Victor, Juanita Gomez, Oscar Flores and |
|
|
his wife, Rose, Jesus Flores, David Montalvo and his wife, Bernie, |
|
|
and Sylvia Beitzel and her husband, Tim; to his 23 grandchildren, 33 |
|
|
great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; to his |
|
|
brother, Esteban "Guero" Flores; to his sisters, Genoveva Aparicio |
|
|
and Cruz Serrano; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Icidro R. |
|
|
Flores. |
