R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dallas resident Evelyn Korn celebrated the |
|
|
momentous milestone of her 100th birthday on May 7, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Oak Cliff in 1907, Mrs. Korn has lived in the |
|
|
Casa Linda area since 1938; she and her husband, the late Jay Mabry |
|
|
Korn, lived in a house they built on Redondo Drive for more than 60 |
|
|
years; a World War II veteran, Mr. Korn died in 1990; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earlier in her life, Mrs. Korn worked for Texas |
|
|
Power and Light; after 11 years there, she moved on to Southwestern |
|
|
Bell and retired from that company after 22 years of dedicated |
|
|
service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Evelyn Korn has touched the hearts of countless |
|
|
individuals with her kindness and generosity, and she is an |
|
|
inspiration to all who know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Evelyn Korn on the joyous occasion |
|
|
of her 100th birthday and extend to her best wishes for continued |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Korn as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
