R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to an end with the |
|
death of Carolyn Kay Bass of Plano on September 20, 2005; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on January 29, 1939, in Lawton, Oklahoma, |
|
Carolyn Bass was crowned Miss Lawton in 1957; after graduating from |
|
Lawton High School, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where |
|
she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority; and |
|
WHEREAS, She met Sam Bass in 1959, and she married him the |
|
following year on March 26, the same month and day her parents had |
|
wed; the couple lived in Illinois and were blessed with a daughter, |
|
Melissa; a homemaker for many years, Mrs. Bass later embarked on a |
|
career in accounting and finance with the Department of Defense; |
|
after retirement, she and her husband moved to Plano; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although her death brought great sorrow to her loved |
|
ones, Carolyn Bass left behind many fond memories that her family |
|
and friends will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carolyn Kay Bass and |
|
offer condolences to the members of her family: to her husband of 45 |
|
years, Retired Major Paul "Sam" W. Bass; to her daughter and |
|
son-in-law, Melissa Kaye and Dan Hutts; to her grandchildren, |
|
Jackson, Madison, and Samantha Caroline; to her sisters, Betty |
|
Watts and Mikel Hennessee; to her aunt, Arline; and to her other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carolyn Kay |
|
Bass. |
