R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to an end with the
  death of Carolyn Kay Bass of Plano on September 20, 2005; and
         WHEREAS, Born on January 29, 1939, in Lawton, Oklahoma,
  Carolyn Bass was crowned Miss Lawton in 1957; after graduating from
  Lawton High School, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where
  she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority; and
         WHEREAS, She met Sam Bass in 1959, and she married him the
  following year on March 26, the same month and day her parents had
  wed; the couple lived in Illinois and were blessed with a daughter,
  Melissa; a homemaker for many years, Mrs. Bass later embarked on a
  career in accounting and finance with the Department of Defense;
  after retirement, she and her husband moved to Plano; and
         WHEREAS, Although her death brought great sorrow to her loved
  ones, Carolyn Bass left behind many fond memories that her family
  and friends will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carolyn Kay Bass and
  offer condolences to the members of her family: to her husband of 45
  years, Retired Major Paul "Sam" W. Bass; to her daughter and
  son-in-law, Melissa Kaye and Dan Hutts; to her grandchildren,
  Jackson, Madison, and Samantha Caroline; to her sisters, Betty
  Watts and Mikel Hennessee; to her aunt, Arline; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carolyn Kay
  Bass.
