R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Travis Hall of the Irving Police
  Department is reaching a significant milestone in a lifetime of
  outstanding public service with his retirement from the department
  on May 29, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Protecting and serving the people of Irving since
  January 1969, Assistant Chief Hall is the longest-serving employee
  in the department; he began his career as a patrolman and has held
  positions in every division of the department, including the
  criminal investigations division, the technical services division,
  and administration; he has commanded all three of the department's
  bureaus and currently is in command of the Investigative Services
  Bureau; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of the 125th session of the FBI Academy,
  Assistant Chief Hall helped ensure the success of several difficult
  police projects and programs during his tenure as captain from
  August 1981 to January 1995; for his indispensable efforts he has
  received multiple commendations over the years, including the
  Police Commendation Bar for outstanding contributions to law
  enforcement; and
         WHEREAS, Supported by the love and devotion of his wife, he
  may also reflect with pride on the service of his two sons, who have
  followed in his footsteps as officers in the Irving PD; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished tenure, Assistant
  Chief Hall has exemplified the highest ideals of the law
  enforcement profession and contributed immeasurably to the safety
  and well-being of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Assistant Chief Travis Hall of the
  Irving Police Department on the occasion of his retirement and
  extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Assistant Chief Hall as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
