R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Juanita Tijerina is ably serving her fellow Texans |
|
as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Juan |
|
Manuel Escobar during the 80th Legislature; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in the South Texas town of San Diego, |
|
Mrs. Tijerina is the daughter of Ramon and Amelia Garcia, and she |
|
graduated from Texas A&I University in Kingsville with a bachelor's |
|
degree in communications; she is married to Dr. Andres Tijerina and |
|
is a mother and grandmother who enjoys genealogy and swimming; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Tijerina have been instrumental in the |
|
effort to build a Tejano monument at the State Capitol, and this |
|
endeavor to create an enduring tribute to the Hispanic legacy in |
|
Texas is but one of the many ways in which Mrs. Tijerina is |
|
benefiting her community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Juanita Tijerina is an outstanding Texan, and her |
|
contributions to the legislative process and the successful |
|
operations of Representative Escobar's office indeed merits |
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Juanita Tijerina for her service as a |
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Juan Manuel |
|
Escobar and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Tijerina as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
