R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Liz Rawls is retiring from the office of the Texas
  Comptroller of Public Accounts on May 23, 2007, bringing to a close
  an exceptional tenure with the State of Texas that has spanned 29
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rawls joined the agency in 1978 and has
  provided able service to the divisions of Revenue Processing,
  Budget & Internal Accounting, Revenue Management, Account
  Maintenance, Property Tax, and Local Government Assistance; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, this native Austinite
  enjoys the love and support of her husband, Bobby, her children,
  Natalie and Josh, and her grandchildren, Emilio, Natalia, and
  Alonzo; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Mrs. Rawls has served the
  Lone Star State with integrity and dedication; she has earned the
  lasting respect of all who have been privileged to work with her,
  and it is a pleasure to recognize her on her outstanding career as
  she embarks on the next chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Liz Rawls on her retirement from
  the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to her best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Rawls as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
