R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
  recognize all the participants in the Texas Legislative Internship
  Program for their outstanding work during the 80th Legislative
  Session; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1990, this excellent internship
  program provides a unique opportunity for students from Texas
  colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas
  Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices;
  students receive academic credit for participating in the program,
  which combines study and research with supervised practical
  training; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Internship Program is
  administered by the Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace
  at Texas Southern University; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a
  program advisor, and the senator's office assists with coordinating
  the on-site activities; and
         WHEREAS, The TLIP interns for the 80th Legislative Session
  are Krystal Austin, Keshia Babin, Yasmeen Belal, Harold Boone, Jr.,
  Cynthia Brum, Elizabeth Choate, Michael Floissac, Iman Houston,
  Martie Garcia, Stefani Garcia, Karen Gilbert, Tariq Gladney, DaeJan
  Grigsby, Rashandra Hayes, Andrea Hochleutner, Namitha Jacob,
  Luckett Johnson, Nikeyla Johnson, James Lacey, Brooke Lierman,
  Allen McClinton, Kaitlyn Murphy, Janine Nicolau, Lesley Nelson,
  Jennifer Nguyen, Edwin Ortiz, Angela Owens, Ronnie Piper, Kimberly
  Player, Marvin Poole, Simeon Popoff, Heather Ragsdale, Nindiya
  Ramchandani, Tony Rodrigues, Phillip Song, Larry Taylor, Sharita
  Thomas, Chidi Umez, and Elaine Yeung; and
         WHEREAS, These diligent, resourceful, and talented interns
  have skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the
  representatives' offices and ably assisted with the needs of
  constituents, and, in so doing, they have obtained firsthand
  knowledge of the governmental process, gained work experience in a
  political environment, and developed insight into the issues facing
  our communities and our state; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the participants in the Texas
  Legislative Internship Program during the 80th Legislative Session
  and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for each intern as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
