R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Richardson High School robotics team won the
  national championship at the 2007 Bots IQ competition held in
  Miami, Florida; and
         WHEREAS, Created by the producers of the popular BattleBots
  television series, the Bots IQ competition showcases robots that
  have been designed, built, and tested by middle-school through
  college-age students; and
         WHEREAS, The Richardson team and its robot, "The Blender,"
  adroitly outperformed the 40 other schools in the competition to
  win Best Engineered and first place overall in the high school
  category; and
         WHEREAS, The victorious members of the Richardson team
  include Matt Tavares, Jonathan Hancock, Scott Mikus, Senai Andai,
  and Alex Kollaja, all of whom benefited greatly from the guidance of
  magnet robotics teacher Max Morales; and
         WHEREAS, The ingenuity and determination of the Richardson
  High School robotics team are truly remarkable, and it is most
  fitting that we commend these talented students as they celebrate
  their exciting achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Richardson High
  School robotics team on their triumph at the 2007 Bots IQ
  competition and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
