R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
  recognize Harold Boone, Jr., for his outstanding work in the office
  of Representative Ana Hernandez; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Boone has been a participant in the Texas
  Legislative Internship Program administered by the Mickey Leland
  Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1990, this excellent internship
  program provides a unique opportunity for students from Texas
  colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas
  Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices;
  students receive academic credit for participating in the program,
  which combines study and research with supervised practical
  training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a program advisor, and the
  senator's office assists with coordinating the on-site activities;
  and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Valdosta State University in Georgia,
  Mr. Boone is in his second year of studies at the Thurgood Marshall
  School of Law at Texas Southern University; he serves as copy editor
  for the legal paper and is an active member of American Inns of
  Court; after he finishes his degree, he plans to practice appellate
  litigation; and
         WHEREAS, During his tenure as an intern, Mr. Boone has
  obtained firsthand knowledge of the governmental process and gained
  work experience in a political environment, as well as developed
  insight into the important issues facing our communities and our
  state today; and
         WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Mr. Boone has
  skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the representative's
  office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Harold Boone, Jr., for his tireless
  dedication and exemplary work as a participant in the Texas
  Legislative Internship Program and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Boone as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
