R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Don and Virginia McPeak of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. McPeak were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Clarksville in 1942; they have nurtured a close and fulfilling |
|
|
marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of a son |
|
|
and daughter, Jerry Don McPeak and Donna Sue Harry, as well as three |
|
|
grandchildren, Kristen, Jeremy, and Kimberly Ann, and a |
|
|
great-grandchild, Caroline Elizabeth; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. McPeak has worked for the Midland Independent |
|
|
School District Department of Transportation and plans to enter |
|
|
retirement by the end of May 2007; Mrs. McPeak is a homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past 6-1/2 decades, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Don and Virginia McPeak on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McPeak as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
