R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Andrew Hernandez of Raymondville won the Class 3A |
|
|
800-meter race at the 2007 University Interscholastic League State |
|
|
Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Raymondville High School, Mr. Hernandez |
|
|
came from the back of the pack with a burst of speed that carried him |
|
|
across the finish line in first place with a time of 1 minute, 55.94 |
|
|
seconds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hernandez has enjoyed great success as a member |
|
|
of the Bearkats track and field team, and the memory of his |
|
|
gold-medal winning performance at the state championships will |
|
|
undoubtedly remain with him for many years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Andrew Hernandez on his victory at |
|
|
the 2007 UIL State Track and Field Championships and extend to him |
|
|
best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
