R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The inaugural class of the Bedford Heights
  Elementary School Spanish Immersion Program is graduating in 2007;
  and
         WHEREAS, Part of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Schools of
  Choice series, the Spanish Immersion Program promotes fluency as
  students reach the fifth grade by teaching core classes in Spanish
  throughout the elementary years; and
         WHEREAS, The outstanding young men and women of the first
  cohort include Sonja Aune, Wiley Balthrop, Kasey Connor, Kelly
  Cunningham, Kaitlyn Duda, Janell Gbollie, Jonathan Giraud, Katy
  Giuffre, Mattie Hererra, Christa Irvin, Megan Keohane, Katie
  Overath, Jordan Sandoval, Sawyer Smith, Lindley-Kay Southard,
  Blake Steelman, and Reid Yerigan; and
         WHEREAS, The Lone Star State has been blessed with a richly
  diverse population, and our continued ability to compete in an
  increasingly global economy will only be strengthened through
  exemplary curricula like the Spanish Immersion Program; it is a
  pleasure to recognize the inaugural class as they embark on an
  exciting new chapter in their educational careers; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the first young men and women to
  graduate from the Bedford Heights Elementary School Spanish
  Immersion Program and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
