R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The inaugural class of the Bedford Heights |
|
Elementary School Spanish Immersion Program is graduating in 2007; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Part of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Schools of |
|
Choice series, the Spanish Immersion Program promotes fluency as |
|
students reach the fifth grade by teaching core classes in Spanish |
|
throughout the elementary years; and |
|
WHEREAS, The outstanding young men and women of the first |
|
cohort include Sonja Aune, Wiley Balthrop, Kasey Connor, Kelly |
|
Cunningham, Kaitlyn Duda, Janell Gbollie, Jonathan Giraud, Katy |
|
Giuffre, Mattie Hererra, Christa Irvin, Megan Keohane, Katie |
|
Overath, Jordan Sandoval, Sawyer Smith, Lindley-Kay Southard, |
|
Blake Steelman, and Reid Yerigan; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Lone Star State has been blessed with a richly |
|
diverse population, and our continued ability to compete in an |
|
increasingly global economy will only be strengthened through |
|
exemplary curricula like the Spanish Immersion Program; it is a |
|
pleasure to recognize the inaugural class as they embark on an |
|
exciting new chapter in their educational careers; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the first young men and women to |
|
graduate from the Bedford Heights Elementary School Spanish |
|
Immersion Program and extend to them sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
