R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Boyd and Nan Mercer of Hurst |
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 16, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Mercer and the former Nan Bull were united in |
|
matrimony in 1947; they have nurtured a close and fulfilling |
|
marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of their |
|
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth |
|
and a navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Hurst worked for the U.S. |
|
Postal Service for 34 years before retiring; Mrs. Hurst, a native of |
|
El Dorado, has shared her time and talents as a homemaker, providing |
|
a warm and nurturing environment for her husband and children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumberable changes in the world |
|
over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have taken |
|
comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast |
|
support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's |
|
challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Boyd and Nan Mercer on the joyous |
|
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Mercer as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
