R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Richardson resident Michael Massey will complete |
|
his term as the legislative chair of the Texas Recreation and Park |
|
Society (TRAPS) in August 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, "Mick" Massey has served in this position since |
|
April 2004; throughout his tenure, he has ably fulfilled his many |
|
duties, and his demanding work through the years has been |
|
recognized with the TRAPS President's Award for excellence in |
|
leadership and service, as well as the organization's Young |
|
Professional of the Year accolade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Massey is a graduate of Texas Tech University |
|
and a licensed landscape architect and certified leisure |
|
professional; he has worked for the Richardson Parks and Recreation |
|
Department since 1985 and currently serves as the assistant |
|
director of recreation and planning; and |
|
WHEREAS, This alumnus of Leadership Richardson has greatly |
|
benefited his professional community through his involvement not |
|
only with TRAPS but also as the state conference marketing chairman |
|
for the American Society for Landscape Architects; in addition, he |
|
has served as the president of the Southwest Parks and Recreation |
|
Training Institute and is a member of the Richardson Telecom Rotary |
|
Club and the National Recreation and Parks Association; he has been |
|
honored by the North Central Texas American Planners Association |
|
and earned recognition as one of the "Outstanding Young Men of |
|
America"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Massey has worked tirelessly in behalf of the |
|
Texas Recreation and Park Society, and his many noteworthy |
|
achievements merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Michael Massey for his service as |
|
legislative chair of the Texas Recreation and Park Society and |
|
extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Massey as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
