R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Richardson resident Michael Massey will complete
  his term as the legislative chair of the Texas Recreation and Park
  Society (TRAPS) in August 2007; and
         WHEREAS, "Mick" Massey has served in this position since
  April 2004; throughout his tenure, he has ably fulfilled his many
  duties, and his demanding work through the years has been
  recognized with the TRAPS President's Award for excellence in
  leadership and service, as well as the organization's Young
  Professional of the Year accolade; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Massey is a graduate of Texas Tech University
  and a licensed landscape architect and certified leisure
  professional; he has worked for the Richardson Parks and Recreation
  Department since 1985 and currently serves as the assistant
  director of recreation and planning; and
         WHEREAS, This alumnus of Leadership Richardson has greatly
  benefited his professional community through his involvement not
  only with TRAPS but also as the state conference marketing chairman
  for the American Society for Landscape Architects; in addition, he
  has served as the president of the Southwest Parks and Recreation
  Training Institute and is a member of the Richardson Telecom Rotary
  Club and the National Recreation and Parks Association; he has been
  honored by the North Central Texas American Planners Association
  and earned recognition as one of the "Outstanding Young Men of
  America"; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Massey has worked tirelessly in behalf of the
  Texas Recreation and Park Society, and his many noteworthy
  achievements merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Michael Massey for his service as
  legislative chair of the Texas Recreation and Park Society and
  extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Massey as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
