R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tom Dickerson of San Antonio has been a tremendous |
|
|
asset to the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association, which has |
|
|
gained immeasurably from his leadership and commitment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A trade association that represents all segments of |
|
|
the green industry in Texas, TNLA serves growers, landscape |
|
|
contractors, retail nurseries, and allied green industry |
|
|
businesses; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dickerson has held a number of leadership |
|
|
positions with the group; currently serving as the immediate past |
|
|
chairman, he formerly served on TNLA regional boards, on the |
|
|
advisory board to the state agriculture commissioner, and as |
|
|
chairman of TALC; he played an integral role on the committee |
|
|
merging TAN and TALC in 1999; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.S. in |
|
|
agriculture, Mr. Dickerson is married to Cheryl Dickerson, who |
|
|
plays a vital role in his various and notable successes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his outstanding tenure with TNLA, Tom |
|
|
Dickerson has devoted himself to the welfare of the organization |
|
|
and its members, steering TNLA on a new path in diversifying the |
|
|
marketplace, setting a high standard of excellence for the benefit |
|
|
of all; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Tom Dickerson for his service to the |
|
|
Texas Nursery and Landscape Association and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Dickerson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
