R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Veronica and Clay Cortez, students at Mills |
|
|
Elementary School in Austin, proudly served the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives as pages on May 15, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Currently enrolled in the fourth grade, Veronica |
|
|
"Ronnie" Cortez plays soccer for the Austin United Capital Soccer |
|
|
Club U10 Magic team and is a talented piano player who hopes to one |
|
|
day attend Harvard Law School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Clay Cortez is about to complete his studies in the |
|
|
second grade and plays on the U9 Sierra team of the Austin United |
|
|
Capital Soccer Club; a skilled guitar player, he hopes to write |
|
|
music, to play for the U.S. national soccer team, and to become a |
|
|
veterinarian as an adult; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ronnie and Clay Cortez are blessed with a devoted |
|
|
and supportive family that includes their parents, Albert and Kim |
|
|
Cortez, and their grandparents, Jerry and Carolyn Henson of Dallas |
|
|
and Claude and Angie Ramos of San Antonio; all who are fortunate |
|
|
enough to know these beloved young Texans look forward to watching |
|
|
them grow up and fulfill their dreams; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Ronnie and Clay Cortez for their service |
|
|
as house pages and wish them well in their future academic and |
|
|
athletic pursuits; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ronnie and Clay Cortez as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
