R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 80th Legislative Session, John Nicholas |
|
de la Vina has ably served his fellow Texans as a member of the |
|
office staff of State Representative Aaron Pena; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. de la Vina graduated from Edinburg North High |
|
School, where he was on the football and track teams and was an |
|
officer and a member of FFA; he went on to attend Texas A&M |
|
University, and while studying agricultural leadership and |
|
development, he played football, served as co-captain of the men's |
|
rugby team, and volunteered his time with Aggie Athletes Involved; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, After earning his bachelor's degree, Mr. de la Vina |
|
moved to Austin and served the Texas House of Representatives as a |
|
sergeant at arms before joining the office of Representative Aaron |
|
Pena; he is also active in the community, sharing his time with the |
|
Austin Museum of Art and Hands Across Central Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Supported in all of his endeavors by proud parents, |
|
Daniel and Judith de la Vina, he plans to continue his education at |
|
the St. Mary's University law school; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. de la Vina has performed his duties in the office |
|
of Representative Pena with skill and dedication, and his fine work |
|
during the legislative session has been of great benefit to the |
|
constituents of House District 40 and all of Texas; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor John Nicholas de la Vina for his service as |
|
a staff member in the office of State Representative Aaron Pena and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. de la Vina as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
